Magnetite with its natural high density and magnetic properties is the preferred choice for coal wash plants. Milled magnetite particles are suspended in water to separate coal from gangue rock and other impurities. The magnetite is then recovered by means of magnetic seperation to be used again, making it one of the most cost-effective ways to clean coal.
Magnetite is also used in recycling plants to separate different metals during the recycling process with the same method. Lighter metals will be separated from heavier metals making it easier for recycling companies to recover the desired metals they need.
The Kara mine has been productive since 1978 and the mine resources exceed 20Mt. With our current processing facility, overburden and tailings storage facilities our planned mine life is over 25 years.
